A PDF you can actually read past page one
The usual problem with printing a database table is that page two onward is a wall of numbers with no headings. Our PDF repeats the header row at the top of every page, so you always know which column is which. Columns are sized to their content, not squashed to a default width, and the text from your DBF is decoded with the right code page, so Korean, Cyrillic and accented names print correctly.
How to convert DBF to PDF
- Upload the .dbf file in the box at the top.
- Choose PDF as the output format.
- Convert and download the PDF.
The conversion happens on our servers. Our DBF reader first rebuilds the table as a clean spreadsheet with real dates, numbers and TRUE/FALSE values, and LibreOffice lays that out as the PDF.
Good uses for a DBF to PDF conversion
PDF is for records people need to read, sign off or keep, not edit. For example: sending an accountant a list of transactions from an old FoxPro ledger, attaching an inventory snapshot to an audit file, or archiving a table before the old system is switched off. The PDF looks the same on every device, and nobody can change a figure in it by accident.
Tables that are too long for a PDF
Past a certain number of rows a PDF stops being useful, so we stop with a message instead of producing one, and you can pick DBF to XLSX or DBF to CSV for the full data. dBASE 7 files and files that aren't real DBF tables also get a message.
