Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of changemyfile.com ("ChangeMyFile", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live. We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.

2. The service

ChangeMyFile is a free browser toolkit for PDF, image, audio and video files. You pick a tool, add a file, and download the result. No account or payment is needed. The site is paid for by display advertising.

We may change, limit, suspend or withdraw any part of the service at any time, including file size limits and the tools offered, and we may block access that we believe breaks these terms.

3. Your files

You keep all rights to your files and to the results. By uploading a file you give us permission to store and process it only as needed to perform the task you asked for and to let you download the result. That permission ends when the file is deleted.

Uploaded files are temporary and are deleted automatically after processing, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not keep backups and cannot recover a file once it is gone, so keep your own copy of anything you upload.

You must have the right to use any file you process here. We do not review file contents and we rely on you for this.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Process content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
• Process content that is unlawful where you are, or that depicts the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors.
• Upload malware or anything designed to damage or interfere with our systems or other users.
• Try to gain access to our systems, bypass limits, or disrupt the service.
• Make bulk or automated use of the service with bots or scripts, or resell access to it.

5. Privacy

How we handle your files and your data, and the cookies set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense, is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Our content

The ChangeMyFile name, logo, website design, text and code belong to us or our licensors. You may use the site as these terms allow, and nothing else is granted. Some tools use open-source software under its own licences.

7. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the site will be available or error-free, that a tool will work with every file, or that a result will be accurate or of any particular quality. Check the result before you rely on it. You use the service at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ChangeMyFile and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including a failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control. Because the service is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, which is nil. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Your responsibility to us

If your files, your use of the service, or a breach of these terms leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the resulting losses and reasonable legal costs of ChangeMyFile and the people who run it.

10. Third-party services

The site depends on services we do not control, including Cloudflare, Google, and the AI provider used by some tools. Ads shown on the site come from Google and its partners, and we are not responsible for the content of ads or of sites we link to.

11. General

• These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and ChangeMyFile about the service.
• If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
